I'm a novice in terms of 'really' knowing what to see and do upon a visit to Italy but would like to make sure that when I do see it I see as many of the MUST SEE highlights as possible. If I have about 10 days can you provide a recommendation on how you would break up your stay in the different cities and regions? I also love "off the beaten paths".
Paolo: for off the beaten path trips in Italy - I would recommend starting from Rome - you might consider driving to Tyrhenian Sea on the west coast and staying at the La posta vecchia - an amazing property - I would regions by 3 day increments!
Dave Taube From Facebook: I've been looking at Albergo al Sole on Luxury Link and just lost out on an auction for the property. Can you tell me more about the area around Asolo. Are there other Luxury Link properties nearby (within two or three hours)?
Paolo: great question! We anticipate Albergo al Sole may have another promotional package online shortly - for you to possibly take advantage of - otherwise near Albergo al Sole - is another Relais & Chateaux property which is the Hotely Villa Abbazia!
Ellie Ing from Facebook: Are the trains reliable and on time?
Paolo: for the most part - they trains are on time - but we love to say in Italy "Arrangiati" meaning make it work for you :)
Eric Speck from Facebook:
1 - looking at going to the Amalfi coast to Bari this September. What is a good town/area to visit on the way? Was thinking Matera. ?
2 - Is it easy to take a train from Amalfi Coast to Bari or would you recommend renting a car?
Paolo: I would recommend renting a car you can stop along the way - There is no train from Amalfi to Bari - you would have to go through Naples -
Cecilia Callmer From Facebook: Super, thanks. Do you have any recommendations on a not too big hotel in Venice that has that little extra to it?
Paolo: A nice hotel that I would recommend is Capisani - http://www.luxurylink.com/fivestar/hotels/venice-italy/ca-pisani-hotel
