just returned from our trip to the west coast of mexico. first stop was four seasons punta mita. got just what we expected but we found the ambience just to americanized. our second stay was the hacienda de san antonio about 2 hours inland from manzanillo. what a gem. not on luxury link and a bit pricey. it was a real find. an old hacienda rebuilt by sir james goldsmith as his residence. now a 25 room hotel. 5600 acres oftotal beauty. all sitting under a most beautiful active volcano 7 miles away. a real treat for us with alot of service fun things to do and a great pampered r&r. cant recommend it highly enough.

thanks to all who responded with suggestions.
