Re: Australia, Oceania
One of the challenges with trying to describe a two week travel plan to Australia (as the editor suggests) is that most folks dont appreciate the sheer size of Australia. Its the same size, roughly, as the USA, or continental Europe and equally diverse. My own recommendations is to 'pick a city -- Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide, spend 3 or 4 days, pick a wine region -- Hunter, Barossa, Clare, to name only a few, spend 3 or 4 days relaxing, then pick an exotic beach -- Gold Coast... and spent 3 or 4 days'. By then, you've adjusted to the jet lag, you've not spent half you holiday in some airport lounge, in a taxi racing to some museum before it closes, or on a plane, and you likely have met some charming and heartwarming Aussie or two, and have a real recollection of the country --- and the desire to return to pick the ones you missed. You can't 'do' Europe or the USA in two weeks... not if you want to see where you've been. You cannot do Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra in a two week period and do any of those great cities (or yourself) justice. You'll come back exhausted, but with loads of frequent flyer miles....
