Re: Hong Kong, China
So much to see and do in and around Hong Kong. I've been there twice now and had completely different experiences both times. We stayed in the Sheraton Kowloon, next door to the beautiful Penninsula Hotel. Tea at the Pennensula is a must. Take a day trip to mainland China and visit the tea farms and see how fast China is growing. Whatever you do, don't pass up the chance to go to Lantau Island and the Po Lin Monestary to see the awe-inspiring 34 meter-high Buddha. It is definately an interesting bus ride out there...
Most people still speak English (less than when Hong Kong was an actual British Colony, but it is still highly prevalent). If you go shopping for electronics, don't be afraid to haggle, and ALWAYS check inside the box. A few unscrupulous vendors will switch out the box, or remove necessary cables. That being said, we got a killer deal on a digital camera!
