Flying First Class on a long flight with ff miles is pretty good, especially when the cost is just peanuts.... I do my best to keep on top of my frequent flyer miles.
My ff points have allowed us to travel to South America and Greece. Love those points!
I'm going to grab that USAir M/C and nail down the bonus miles. I'll hold on to them and consolidate with my AAdvantage miles when the programs merge.
Do you think AA and USAir frequent flyer programs will merge eventually? Right now, they belong to two different alliances, like Star Alliance and One World. In any case, such action will take at least another year or more.
The new American will be One World.
So you think all our US Airways mlles will be absorbed by the new American, just like United absorbed all the Continental ff miles?
I still have almost 24K in USAirmiles (from 20+ yrs ago!) and I'm just saving them for an emergency for some family member. Thinking about AA credit card for program merger later so they can actually be useful.
Don't forget about the USAir MasterCard offer for 40 or 50K after your first purchase. That also would go a long way once the AA and USAir ff accounts get merged.
It was with considerable relish that American today announced that two Latin American airlines, both members of the LATAM Airlines Group, will join oneworld, the global alliance co-anchored by American and British Airways.
Brazilís TAM Airlines will sever its current ties to the Star Alliance and is expected to make the transition to oneworld during the second quarter of 2014. And LAN Colombia will become a oneworld member toward the end of this year.
