reason to go to Lyon this time of year for the weather (thanks for pointing that out, mountie). However, maybe you can grab a rental car and drive a few Km outside the city......even though the vineyards in nearby Beaujolais willappear to belittle more than barren and almost lifeless fields of vines, since the harvest has long past.....the wine makers will likely be busy inside their wineries and welcome you to tour their facilities and taste their fine offerings.

In my opinion, the surrounding villagers are among some of the most inviting people in France.

I would trade a few days of sunshine to visit Beaujolias this time of year......enjoy!
