My fiance and me are getting married in October of this year. We are thinking of a cool spot to go to. I was thinking Costa Rica, Nicaragua or maybe Spain. We want to find a reasonable all inclusive resort. We love the beach! Wine! Salsa Dancing. Any ideas?
October is rainy season in many parts of Central America - the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica - northwest part of the country - fly into Liberia International Airport is less rainy than other parts of CR and most of the all inclusive resorts in CR are in this part of the country - around the Papagayo beach areas. We were in this part a few years ago in October for turtle egg laying season. It is close to the Nica border so tours to the colonial city of Granada and Lake Nicaragua are easy to arrange.
We are going to Nica next year and are doing the Jicarro Resort - it includes all meals and Aqua Wellness Resort - obviously have not been to these yet so can not give you any ideas but both have great reviews on Trip Advisor.
Lots of very nice options listed here for CR, however, not many are all inclusive - read the auction descriptions to see what is included. We just did the Xandari Resort which is wonderful and we are going back in November to the Cuna del Angel.
Congratulations on the upcoming wedding and have fun wherever you decide to go!
We've stayed at the Occidental and it's quite nice for the price. Nothing special for rooms but balcony /view ones are best. Very nice pool. Not a huge resort, dark sand beaches, with dolphins in the bay and some good trails around --loaded with howler monkeys1 Good zipline nearby--WItches Rock.
There is also the Grand Papagayo, which seems smaller but "plusher". I doubt either one would be a "party resort" except on wkends when Ticos come for getwaways. My advice for AI Costa Rica would be spend the most you can afford--it's not like Mexico (competitive and saturated.)
Are you thinking Spanish Riviera--Marbella, etc? Not sure how warm you want--it could turn on you in October. I just spent a few days in Barcelona and WOW---food is $$--everything is $$ (except Spanish wines) 20+% VAT. If you go, it would be same rule about best affordable for AI to get quality food/beverages. Majority of holiday makers there are GB, Spaniards and Germans, from what I read in their forums on tripadvisor.
Best of everything to you and fiance. Happy to help w/more q's.
I wouldn't recommend doing all inclusive in Europe. It's not the same as it is in the Carribean/Mexico. If you go somewhere like Spain I would highly recommend you go out of the hotel and enjoy the food and culture. Or else there is not much point in travelling all the way to europe.
We did try an all inclusive in Morocco. It was Club Valtur. Very interesting. I believe it was Italian owned. We are not typically all-inclusive travelers however, this was in a nice location with great activities.
