My wife and I will be visitingItaly for 10 days in October and staying at a Luxury Linkdestination while in Tuscany, Villa Mangiacane. I welcome recommendations and reviews from anyone who has recently stayed at Villa Mangiacane. This is the first time I have used a LL location but I am looking forward to it from all that I have read. This is a special trip for us since we will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and my 40th birthday.
Also, I amputting the final plans together on if I shouldrent a car or rely on hiring a driver for our day trips to the surrounding towns. Any suggestions? We will be in Tuscany for 5 days and then4 days in Capri before spending a final day in Rome (with family) before flying home.
Please feel free to share any other tips and suggestions on travel around Tuscany and down into Capri. Thank you and I look forward to many great replies.
Hey, sounds great. If you are going into cities, like Florence, Pisaor Siena, do not take a car. However, if you are going into the small hill towns and staying overnight then a car would be great convince. We traveled by train from Milan, Parma, Bologna and Florence. We enjoyed thefreedom on not having to worry about driving directions, parking, gas, tolls and other car related problems. However, we were limited in what we did. Westayed in town. Next time we plan on renting a car and using LL on the small hotels that are not in the large cities. Having a base and using a car and driver for the day would be the next option. Have a great time, we did.
