Mount Etna roars to life Mount Etna roars to life in new eruption -- and it's all on video - Science
Italy's Mount Etna sent lava and gas shooting toward the stars early this morning (Feb. 19), the first big eruption for the volcano in 2013.
We are planning to visit Sicily, (Catania, Toarmino and the Vulcano Island) in June. I hope the volcanic activity will have quieted down by then.
Well, it is always unpredictable, but honestly, it should not be a reason not to go, the people and tourists live with that, and as long as you do not get too close to it, you will be safe.
Thank you for your note and welcome to the community. Well, we are booked for Toarmino, Italy and with any luck the volcano will have calmed down. I understand there is a spectacular hike up there. In any case, we are looking forward to our trip exploring Sicily.
