LOUISIANA MUSEUM FOR MODERNE KUNST
-- To June 29: "Czanne & Giacometti: Paths of Doubt." Juxtaposing the works of two artists who never met is a curatorial favorite. Are there any similarities in the artistic evolution of Paul Czanne (1839-1906) and Alberto Giacometti (1901-66)? As young artists, both were obsessed with sexuality and eroticism. In their early works, Giacometti associated himself with Surrealism while Czanne cultivated his own idiom. Later, they both played with endless variations on the same theme. The display brings together about 60 works by Czanne (paintings and drawings) and 110 works by Giacometti (paintings, drawings and sculpture). -- www.louisiana.dk
