If you're looking for peace and quiet you should try Brias Creek on the Virgin Gorda Island. My wife and I have traveled to the BVIs many times, but thiswas one of the nicest and most relaxingstays. The food is spectacular and snorkeling was a great time.HIGHLY recommended.
Thank you for your reply. I have looked at Brias Creek on the Luxury site and it looks really nice, but I got a little nervous after I read a review on another travel site. The person reported that the facility seemed a little worn out and needed an update. Have you been there recently ?
My husband and I just got back from Anquilla. The island is beautiful and the people are very nice. Of all the resorts, we like the Cuisinart. It is the newest of the resorts. Also, it is a Leading Hotel. The other hotel that everyone likes is Cap Juluca. The food is very good and the beach is beautiful. I would rent a car and go to the restaurants on the island.
I too would suggest the Relais&Chateaux Biras Creek Resort on Virgin Gorda, but it has been a little while since my husband and I vacationed there. We had a delightful stay there and the staff was great. There is Little Dix on Virgin Gorda which has fabulous accommodations and spectacular open air dining with good food. Their beach is beautiful and they have a wonderful activity program. You might also want to check out the Peter Island Resort off of Tortola, BVI. Great accommodations, good food and lots of activity. But where ever you go, the British Virgin Islands are delightful. Good luck.
I heard from a couple that Foxy's is the place to be on New Year's Eve. They have gone a few times. They said that Foxy's is right up there with New York City for New Year's Eve, must do list. Haven't experienced it my self, but this couple Really recommended it. Said it was a lot of fun.
My husband and I have rented villas on Virgin Gorda a number of times and it has always been fun. We rented a jeep to go with it and brought some of our food (meats in particular) with us. Up until 3 to 4 years ago, quality of food was a little iffy and choices were somewhat limited. Hopefully, the situation has improved by now. Renting a villa is great if you like to cook, or at least make your own breakfast and make your own bed. Also, if you can convince another couple to go with you would be a help. Usually the villas have at least 2 bedrooms and are priced accordingly. However, some of the villas on Virgin Gorda are just spectacular.
Hi L. Brown. We love renting a villa in Mahoe Bay. It is so private. The snorkelling is excellent also. We also rent a jeep. What an experience! We have travelled many places but these roads are crazy! I am glad my husband enjoys driving. Most of the time I am holding on tight and pretending I have brakes on my side of the car! It is an experience. We enjoy the food in VG. We love Flying Iguana. It is casual and laid back. The owner and staff make everyone feel welcome. (Plus its not too far from Mahoe!) We also bring food down. Sometimes the stores don't have as much as we would like. We did do a day boat trip in September. I would highly recommend it. Unfortunately, we didn't get to Anegada due to late booking by us. That is in store for us this September! Can't wait to go back!
