It would be easier if we know where others are from when they are asking about advice on destinations as obviously some places are easier to get to depending on where you come from. I have been checking on othere profiles and there are very few who have put down where they come from. I think the only ones are lhbrown and maybe another two. If others don't mind then maybe they should go onto their profile and put in their home city or country. It would be interesting to find out where all you guys are from. If you go into my profile you will se I am from Scotland.
Your suggestion has a lot of merit and I for one have indicated that I'm from Toronto, Canada (where I now live) and from Helsinki, Finland (where I lived some years ago). Since the resorts offered on LL are found in many different parts of the world, it also makes good sense for contributors to be able to find out where others who post information are from. At first, after I joined LL's Community, I thought most of those participating were in the USA.
I think it is up to the participants to fill in where they are located in their profile. This could be well a security issue and some people prefer to leave as few traces on the net as possible. I tried to change my profile to something more anonymous like for instance "disneygal" did, but from what I understand from LL customer service, I am stuck with L.Brown unless I close my account and start all over again. You are right LL is an all American outfit located in California. The offers are in Dollars which is great for Americans with the Euro at an all time high and the British Pound at not far behind it. So for us Americans paying in dollars is a good deal, and so are the deals for you. But to get back to listing where the members/contributors are from, it is up to the members/contributors to list where they are from. I think this is fair. Some of us prefer more privacy than others....
Thanks lhbrown for the reply. I realise some people may not want to give out too much info about themselves, but sometimes it would be easier to answer their queries if you know where they are travelling from. I hope you don't mind me asking, but,Isee you are from three different destinations. Do youhave homes inthese 3 destinations? Sorry, I don't mean to be nosey, just curious!!! Well, just a little bit nosey!! LOL!
How cool is that! staying in 3 different destinations. I have bought a small apartment in Dubai and have just been given the completion date as 15th january. I bought it 2 years ago off-plan. i cannot believe it is nearly ready. I will try to go out to it as often as we can or maybe use it as a stopover if we are travelling further afield e.g Maldives or Indian Ocean. We won't be able to go over that often, but just knowing that is there for whenever we want to go. Family and friends will use it too.
Hi, it's the anonymous disneygal here. I think it can sometimes be helpful to know someone's location. Now I know to ask mary-j if I want to visit Scotland! And of course I'll be glad to assist with any Disney-related questions.
Disneygal, I would be happy to answer anything about Scotland if you ever decide to visit. It's a very beautiful country. Shame about the weather! So you'll be the one to ask If I have any questions on Disney! Although not much chance of us going back to Disney as our family have grown up. I do have 2 young grandaughters, so never say never!
Hi mary-j. I actually love visting Disney World without any children - that way you can do whatever you like. It's fun to allow ourselves to be the children! In another post I mentioned Royal Hideaway in the Mayan Rivera - we just returned and had a wonderful time. Unfortunately the weather last week was much like Scotland, with some rain just about every day! The food and service are really what sets Royal Hideaway apart from the rest. It's a lovely resort, and usually available a la carte on LL. Also, back to the topic at hand, I did update my profile to indicate my location - Boston area.
