One of several interesting innovative web sites discussed in Michelle Higgins New York Times article. Several of the hotels are featured on Luxury Link, in case anyone needs an advanced peak at the room layouts....could be helpful when making a reservation.
Room 77 - Find your perfect room.
"Designed to uncover the best and worst rooms in a hotel, Room77 allows you to view the layout of every floor in a hotel and see a simulation of the view from the window. Since the site went live in February, Room77 has compiled hotel maps, blueprints and other records into a searchable database of more than 500,000 rooms in about 2,500 upscale hotels in 29 cities in North America and London.
Type the name of a hotel in the search box and adjust your preferences (like high or low floor, proximity to elevators and connecting rooms) for color-coded room rankings. Clicking on a particular room number pulls up details like square footage, a map of where the room is located, photos, traveler reviews and a simulation of the view using Google Earth-enabled technology. The site also offers “insider” tips pointing out which rooms tend to be noisy and those with the best views."
I know I'd found this website before. Seems like they are slowly adding to their inventory of hotels to view. If they can get it more robust with inormation, it will be a great site - especially when you think you are booking a "view" room, only to arrive and find that the lovely view you paid extra for is only seen by looking sideways out a small bathroom window!
I like the innovation and future potential offered by Room 77 - Find your perfect room. We have stayed at several of the properties displayed on their site and the information is fairly accurate (the one dimensional projection of the 'view' provided by Google is confusing). I hope they continue to improve and expand their selections.

View is not so important when I am traveling on business.....but for leisure travel, looking at the side of a brick wall or a shopping center parking lot leaves much to be desired............
None of my hotels in Costa Rica are on here - maybe in the future they will expand their offerings - good idea though
Thanks for the feedback on our site, Room 77! We're expanding to new destinations and hotels monthly so hopefully we'll be in your favorite destination soon.
If you have any feedback or suggestions on what we can build or do to help you have a better hotel booking experience, please let me know.
Well, what I see is a group of hotel chains in the US and some views from select rooms. I don't get it--what service does this provide for luxury travelers around the world?
Are you offering a "better booking experience?"? Are you advertising in luxurylink.com forums or just replying to keep your site in view?
Roger (aka calbear81), I'm always interested in new ways to develop more information regarding the hotels I am considering. So I vote you continue to expand your web site and include additional listings.
