I wonder what LL policy is when you have to break up a trip after just one night.
We recently stayed at the Normandy Hotel in DC when we had a death in the family and had to break up our stay to tend to family business. I asked the front desk at the Normandy Hotel if we could use the 2nd night of our package at some other time. I was told I would have to take this up with LL customer service. I haven't done so yet.
Does anybody have personal experience on what LL policy is in such a case?
The only experience I have had is when I wanted to break up a 4 day stay at Willows Lodge into two 2-night stays. I called LL customer service to inquire. i was told that I needed to contact the hotel management directly to ask if they would allow it, as the hotel puts the package together.
I know that in Novemberr I needed to extend the dates of my Suncadia package due to unexpected surgery. Again I spoke with LL customer service. They explained that changes to packages are a decision for the hotel. They were able to get me in touch with the correct person at the property that would make the decision. Suncadia graciously extended the dates because it was an unexpected event.
I am guessing that the person you spoke to just didn't understand their arrangements with LL. I would call LL to obtain the contact information for the correct person to talk with at the hotel. I am betting that they will give you the credit to come back to their property at a later date in this situation. It is in their best interest to have happy customers that will patronize them for future stays.
