Travaasa Austin is a Luxury Link-caliber resort, in every way possible. From the moment we arrived the staff’s attention to detail – and to us – was second to none. All we had to do was ask, and our wishes were granted. From scheduling our spa treatments to all the very special touches in our room, everything was picture perfect. Everyone – from the reception to spa personnel – was very welcoming . A special thank you to Brian and Christine for all their help during our entire stay.
My wife’s hip had been bothering her for the past few days, and when we checked in she asked if a heating pad was available. The answer: “That shouldn’t be a problem. We’ll send it to your room in just a few minutes.” Little did we know a Travaasa Austin staff member then drove to the nearest shopping center, some 15 minutes away and purchased a heating pad, and then delivered it to our room! Simply put, the service was incredible.
We’ve stayed at Luxury Link resorts throughout the world, and Travaasa Austin ranks right up at the top. Not surprisingly, the food was very good, plated beautifully, and the service impeccable. Meals were available indoors, in Jean’s Kitchen and elsewhere, such as outdoors on the patio overlooking Lake Travis.
Perhaps what sets Travaasa Austin apart from most other resorts is the EXPERIENCE. Three events stood out during our stay: The equine experience, the chili cook-off and dining at The Farm. Instead of just riding the horses (which one certainly can do), we learned to be beginning “Horse Whisperers,” communicating with our horses via body language and touch rather than by speaking to them. It was truly magical to see the horses react to us that way.
The chili cook-off was great fun, with everyone a winner.
Our final night together was very special – the inaugural dinner at The Farm.
We didn’t want to leave. But the real world beckoned, and we reluctantly bid a fond farewell to Travaasa Austin. Now, we can’t wait to try its sister resort, Travaasa Hana on Maui.
Thanks again, Travaasa Austin, for a wonderful, albeit too short, weekend.
