Each week, Luxury Link will showcase an exclusive interview with one of our valued hotel partners. This week, please enjoy our conversation with Monika Morrobel, Regional Revenue Manager of the Grand Bohemian Hotel, a cutting-edge, luxury resort in Orlando, Florida...
Q) What makes the Grand Bohemian Hotel a unique experience for guests?
A) Unlike big box hotels, the Grand Bohemian is an experience in art and music. As Downtown Orlando’s hallmark luxury hotel, guests are surrounded by chic décor, inspiring artwork and delicious cuisine to tantalize every sense.
Q) Can you explain what makes the Grand Bohemian Hotel's location appealing to travelers as a vacation destination?
A) The Grand Bohemian provides proximity to all the famous sites and attractions of Orlando but in a chic, sophisticated and grown-up atmosphere. Guests can discover the cultural side of Orlando, surrounded by the various museums and theaters of the downtown district.
Q) Are there any “must-try” dishes or drinks at the resort that guests should order?
A) Kessler Calamari – a custom recipe of the Kessler Collection hotels with a delicious concoction of fried calamari in an aioli sauce. Also the hotel’s Sunday Jazz Brunch is a not-to-be-missed, award-winning dining event with a buffet brunch serenaded by live jazz music.
Q) What are the three things about your property that guests may not know?
A) 1 - The hotel contains the Grand Bohemian Gallery that not only displays and sells artwork but holds special artist receptions and shows throughout the year.
2 - Nightly live musical entertainment is performed in the Bosendorfer Lounge, perfect for relaxing in the evening with some drinks.
3 - The hotel has a CD of its custom jazz music available for sale, so guests can take the sounds of their stay with them.
Q) Can you take me through what a guests stay would be like and what an average day might entail in terms of activities, etc?
A) After check-in, take in some Florida sun on the rooftop pool deck, before enjoying a leisurely dinner at the award-winning Boheme Restaurant. Attend an Orlando Magic basketball game, a music concert or theater performance just blocks away at the new Amway Center, before returning for some late-night drinks and music at the Bosendorfer Lounge. In the morning, don’t miss the Orlando Museum of Art or take a stroll around downtown’s Lake Eola park with a popular farmer’s market held on Sundays
Q) What elements about your property are truly luxurious?
A) In addition to the hundreds of pieces of original artwork filling each area of the hotel, the Grand Bohemian boasts an Imperial Grand Bosendorfer Piano – one of only two in the world. The lobby’s ceiling is covered in imported Italian mosaic, and gold leaf ceilings are found throughout some of the meeting and restaurant space.
Q) What is the best time to travel to the Grand Bohemian Hotel?
A) Holidays are a great time to visit to enjoy the special concerts and holiday events held throughout the city and various attractions, while the downtown area is relatively quiet with minimal business.
