My twelve year old daughter and I flew to Paris for Spring Break in 2004. Her French teacher takes a group of seventh and eighth grade French students on trips to different parts of France every other year, and we decided that it would be a great father/daughter trip. Since we planned to extend our trip beyond the ten days that everyone else was taking, we were put on a different outbound flight from the rest of the group.
When Rachel and I arrived at the Portland, Oregon airport, we
love 'em or hate 'em?
to bid or not to bid?
I'm not sure how many auctions I've been involved in at LL--bid wars or single bids--that horrible feeling when the email is being delivered and you wonder if it will say, "you've been outbid" or "you are the highest bidder". That tension, that anxiety, it's, it's--that feeling!!
Then you receive the congratulatory email and the rush is over. The relief--"IT'S MINE" and the planning continues--of course,

I have a major decision to make--which one will I choose? I'm thinking "The Lady or the Tiger?" and "Door Number 1 or Door Number 2?" Thank goodness I only have 2 choices.
Sure, I've had that even more horrible situation called procrastination, where I COULD have purchased a pkg for a song to add to the one I am trying
Recently during a business trip to Santa Monica, I reading an article in Los Angeles Magazine [/i]entitled WEEKEND GETAWAYS 2008, which focused on a list of ideas for weekend escapes..one in particular caught my eye:
SUGGESTION[/b]# 11 Eating Apple Pie in Julian
Settled in 1869 by a former slave who struck gold, with a Main Street thats precious without being mushy, the mountain hamlet of Julian (about an hour northeast of San Diego) resists the clichs of a tourist town. Skip the omnipresent
My wife entered a raffle drawing in 2006 and won four Parkhopper passes to Disneyland and accommodations for three nights near the park. Since it coincidentally worked out best for our schedule, we flew down to Anaheim on my daughter Rachel's fifteenth birthday. Before boarding, I discretely asked the agent at the check-in counter if it would be possible for my daughter to sit in first class, since it was her birthday. She told me that she had no authority to do so, but I could ask one of the flight
