WOW. We just returned from the Liaison in DC. We used the LL package that included breakfast, internet, and $50 dining credits daily. The best part was that the property is SO pet friendly!! Pets are permitted in your room (3rd floor is the pet floor.) They are also permitted in the lobby. The lobby had funky chairs and couches where you could enjoy a drink and a light bite. Pets are also permitted at their outdoor restaurant, Art and Soul. We loved the location which was within three blocks

Good news: I don't have to go to Global Entry to get reprinted--they only use 4 fingers for ID.
Bad news: I'm losing half my right thumb in a few weeks. Amputation is the only option for me to get healthy again.
Good news: We're still going to South Africa in 6 wks.
Good news: We're still going to Bali in October.
Bad news: I will lose a lot of mobility.
Good news: I will still be able to drink wine with my left hand.
Good news: Massages are very inexpensive
I'm intrigued by the evolution of pre-flight boarding processes at different airports in different countries over the past few year. I have long ago set aside my predispositions for a fast efficient procedure and acquiesced to local customs, traditions and bureaucracies.
I no longer stress over the follies involved in boarding a domestic flight within the U.S. I don't always avail myself of the priorities associated with upgraded class of service, frequent flier standing or credit
I took a two month backpacking trip around Europe with a buddy when I was seventeen years old. We had spent a couple of weeks in France and had taken a train south to Spain when we got stuck for several hours at the border, waiting for a train into Spain. We were talking to some Canadian backpackers who suggested that we go to Pamplona, instead of Madrid, for the Festival of San Fermin. Since the wait for that train was several hours less than for the Madrid train, we decided to go to Pamplona.
