Some one posted a thread about repulsive food items consumedI thought a blog would be better, since everyone wouldnt need to be exposed to
our experiences associated with a Luxury Link Auction trip taken a couple of years back.
The most repulsive things Ive eaten occurred years ago during my military stintmost of those things eaten were as a result of the need for protein during extended jungle survival training (no other food sources were provided, since survival was the key word).
Travel Faux Pas & Blunders.....
Fellow Travelers.weve traveled for years, both domestically and internationally and over that period of time, we are reminded of the many faux pas and blunders we have made.
For the most part, either a please forgive me or shameful smile or as a last resort, a small consideration in the local currency has managed to right the ship!
One such absurdity is still mentioned periodically at our home, especially when packing for a trip to a new destination.
...but we'll try!
For years we had discussed the possibilities ofattempting a moderately deep penetration into Amazonia. We wanted to experience one of the most intriguing eco systems in a near natural state (without giving up our day jobs to be scientists). The eastern side of the Andes in Peru and Ecuador seemed the most promising, given the amount of annual rain fall, the density of the canopy and remote destinations still accessible with some degree of ease.
