Recipe for a Perfect Layover

When flying to Argentina out of Miami International Airport, we find it is better to arrive about 3 1/2 hours prior to our scheduled departure. Once aboard and settled, maybe a glass of Malbec (skip the meal and entertainment) and try to spend the next 8 3/4 hours of confinement to various stages of sleep. With any luck, we arrive on time, speedily disembarking at Santiago's Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport and head for the lower level of the transit passenger area.
Not to sound OCD, but taking a shower after a long haul overnight flight is one of life's little pleasures.......at least for us. While some transit passengers scramble for hot coffee or tea and maybe a light breakfast following an overnighter, we immediately head for the American Airlines Admirals Club, and request the use of one of the two shower rooms. OK, maybe the club is somewhat dated in millwork, furnishings and decor, but the bathrooms and showers are 'always kept clean' and have full time attendants to provide fresh towels and toiletry items.
We can't be the only passengers who are thrilled by fresh undergarments (we bring our own, since American hasn't begun offering them yet.....but we did a set of their new PJs).
A two hour layover between flights can be a pleasant experience....hot shower, light breakfast, getting caught up on emails......wish I had a bathroom attendant at home.
