Making An Escape

Needing an escape from the pace of South Florida, we often look north for a long weekend at Costa d'Este in Vero Beach for a respite. Only a two drive from Miami, we are able to 'shift into neutral' and relax at this perfectly executed beach side resort.
Several years back, management for day to day operations was changed and today staff takes a sincere interest in guest services...engaging, friendly and displaying exceptional service levels. We try to visit the property at least twice a year and by now, we have come to consider Ocean Cabana King #112 as our home away from home. This ground level habitat is tastefully appointed with exotic wood millwork, cool marble floors, high-count count bed linens on the platform bed and cozy bathroom with an innovative and invigorating shower configuration. We prefer being on the ground floor; being able to open a slider and walk directly to the pool, hot tub and onward to the pristine beach.
We enjoy the pool in late afternoons....attendants will serve frozen grapes and drinks (thanks to Gloria and Emilio Estefan - the Mojitos are top of the line) and foot massages are available from spa personnel...decadent, but why not? If the pool scene gets a bit crowded or noisy, then a short walk to the Atlantic will provide serenity...this stretch of Vero Beach never seems to be crowded. A late evening 'dip/steep' in the always perfectly warmed hot tub is a star gazers delight with the rolling Atlantic surf in the background.
We always take at least one meal at "The Wave" the hotel restaurant. We are big fans of Chef Antonio http://www.costadeste.com/verobeach_restaurants/chef/ and his native Peruvian inspired cuisine. As vegetarians, we appreciate his attention for fresh and locally sourced produce and his healthy cooking style.
We also enjoy waling a short distance south on the beach to http://citrusgrillhouse.com/ for a relaxing lunch or possible happy hour (an extensive and impressive wine list) and an early dinner overlooking the ocean.
These short escapes to Vero Beach are good reminders of how pleasant living in coastal Florida is and how affordable a luxury boutique stay can be when shopping at http://www.luxurylink.com/
