I returned from Chile last week and the highlight of my trip was four wonderful days in San Pedro de Atacama. I flew to Chile with my wife to visit our daughter who is studying in Valparaiso. After two weeks in Santiago, Valparaiso and Mendoza, Argentina, we parted company. There are so many travel guide books out there, but I haven't yet found a great source for authentic, cultural travel experiences. Or guides that really speak to upscale luxury experience I want my vacation to be. Most travel guides I've found are general-purpose, and they don't give any local knowledge, just generic overviews. Maybe because local trends change so quickly and it's hard to publish and update on a frequent schedule, but most guides just aren't written to uncover local experiences

Hawaii's Big Island - also just called Hawaii - is the largest of the Hawaiian islands and has vastly different climates - basically covering most of the world’s climate zones. The island isn't very populated and has a lot of farmland and volcanoes, so it feels very remote and even desolate as you drive from town to town. Additionally, there aren't many sandy beaches on Hawaii, most are volcanic and rocky. A lot of travelers love the feel of the big island because of the diversity of climate

We needed a weekend to recharge and the LL package for the Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad, Ca was priced right!
As we wound our way down the entry drive to the Park Hyatt Aviara, in our rental Mercury Grand Marquis (Enterprise offered a variety of much flasher vehicles, but we needed the trunk space for our 'cargo'), we both wondered what to expect.
The resort was previously operated as a Four Seasons, the last time we visited and we were still expecting exceptional
