We love to travel and love to learn more from many different cultures. I always appreciate ideas in order to better improve my giving back to the community. These are some things we have done:
1. Contact the property you are staying at and seeing if there is anything missing in their community. (For example, some have schools that could use books.) Some communities might be having a drive to raise funds for their improvement and are seeking donations in the form of giveaways.
This past week, we met up with old friends in Johnston, VTto do some hiking. Our friends, long time Vermonters and avid outdoorsmen and hikers, planned this lovely hike for us. The sights, food, and Lodging on this 39-mile, 3-day hiking trip along Vermonts Long Trail left us as excited as former Governor Howard Dean on a soapbox.

Very much an insiders secret, Ten Bompas is a boutique hotel located in Dunkeld West, an upscale neighbourhood located in the centre of the posh northern suburbs of Johannesburg. Its exterior dcor is subtle, with only the sign for the restaurant, Sides, distinguishing it from the neighbouring houses. Inside, it looked more like a posh restaurant than a hotel, with the bar to the left and the dining room on the right. The maitre ds desk doubled as reception. All three were staffed by chic people
